Hushwood
Survive in a wild forest that lives on its own clock. Seasons turn, storms roll in, night falls — and somewhere out there, someone is watching through a scope.
The forest doesn't wait for you
Everyone shares the same 5 × 5 km forest and the same time. When it's night for you, it's night for every player — and for every wolf.
Calm on the surface. Alive underneath.
Hushwood is about reading the wild: the light, the wind, the birds, the tracks in the snow.
Weather that matters
Rain soaks you, snow piles up and shows your tracks, rivers flood in spring, lakes freeze in winter, fog hides everything.
Stay warm, stay fed
Gather wood, light a fire, dress for the season, set snares, cook what you catch — but smoke and smell travel.
Wildlife with habits
Deer keep to their routines, wolves hunt in packs at night, bears guard their ground. Startle them and the whole forest hears it.
The birds tell on you
Songbirds fall silent, crows lift off, a magpie chatters over your head. Learn the signs — they work both ways.
Hide in plain sight
Crawl through grass, camouflage yourself, shelter in caves and hollows. Stillness is your best armour.
Nights you'll remember
Moonlit clearings, morning mist over the river, and on a lucky winter night — the northern lights.
Survive the wild. Someone's watching.
Most of the time, it's just you and the forest. The hunter is there so you never fully relax.
Live off the land
- Explore a hand-shaped world of forests, meadows, ridges and rivers
- Track the seasons — what works in summer will kill you in January
- Move quietly, watch the wildlife, read the weather
…through a scope
- Other players carry rifles and binoculars
- Shots echo across the valley — distance and terrain change the sound
- Your fire, your tracks and the birds above you can give you away
Questions
Is Hushwood free?
Yes. It runs in your browser — no download, no install.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, with touch controls. A desktop with a mouse and a decent graphics card gives the best view.
Is it a shooter?
Not really. It's a survival game in a living forest. Rifles exist and other players might use them, but most of your time is spent surviving the wild itself.
Why is the time different from mine?
Hushwood has its own clock: a day lasts 3.5 real hours and a year about 53 real days, so you'll see every season and every time of day at different hours of your own.
